Mariano A. Dumia is a retired career Foreign Service Officer with the rank of Chief of Mission. He served for 33 years in the Foreign Service with his last assignment as Charge d’ Affaires at the Philippine Embassy, Tehran, Iran from 2010 to 2012. He served at the same embassy as minister and consul general from 1996 to 1997. He also served as Charge d’ Affaires at the Philippine embassies in Beirut, Lebanon (2007-2008) and Doha, Qatar (1992-1995), respectively. Earlier, he served in various capacities at the Philippine embassies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Bangkok, Thailand and Vientiane, Laos and at the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, Australia.
