Thirty-seven (37) Foreign Service Institute (FSI) personnel took on the challenge and completed the Productivity Challenge Workshop: Discovering and Designing Productivity Solutions held last 23-24 August 2023, at the DFA Building, Carlos P. Romulo Library Hall.
DAP’s Project Officer, Mr. Peter Dan Baon, and Associate Project Officer, Mr. Alvin S. Bilog, led the one and a half-day discussions where they presented the current state of public sector productivity in the Philippines, introduced to the participants the basic tools used for discovering productivity gaps in their own work departments, and helped them experience how to formulate and ideate solutions to address productivity problems in the Institute.

At the end of the workshop, Ms. Rocio Isabel Paloma, Project Manager of the Productivity Challenge Program, called on the participants to design an innovative productivity solution and submit an entry to DAP’s Productivity Challenge.

This year’s challenge is the 2023 Productivity Spark: 1,000 Ideas for Productivity. It is part of DAP’s Center of Excellence on Public Sector Productivity, a multi-year Productivity Challenge initiative, which aims to increase awareness of public sector organizations (PSOs) in the Philippines and their productivity and innovativeness. Its goal is to advance the productivity movement in the public sector by raising awareness and enabling a culture of innovation to improve productivity performance and quality service delivery.
