The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) organized the third installment of its Institute-wide huddle on 3 August 2023 focusing on “The ASEAN Charter,” in celebration of the ASEAN month. The huddle for FSI personnel aimed to encourage understanding and appreciation of the ASEAN Charter and discussed the fundamental provisions and salient points of the ASEAN Charter.

Assistant Secretary Noel Servigon of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Internal Audit Service was the huddle’s resource person.  Amb. Servigon was the former Philippine Permanent Representative to ASEAN from 2019 to 2022.  He discussed his book The ASEAN Charter: Notes and Comments, which included, among other topics the “Organizational Aspects of ASEAN Bodies,” “Decision Making and Dispute Settlement,” External Relations,” and “Purposes and Principles of ASEAN.”
