The Foreign Service Institute warmly received the Honorable Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs Dr. Mohamed Ali Bahzad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Bahrain in a brief visit to FSI on 1 June 2023.

Discussions with the Undersecretary focused on strengthening the Philippines’ and Bahrain’s bilateral relationship through people to people exchange and forums focused on foreign policy and diplomatic relations. It also tackled possible language training opportunities for the Bahraini diplomats to be assigned in Manila, and the continued participation of Filipino diplomats in the International Diplomats Program (IDP) organized by the Bahraini government.

Undersecretary Dr. Mohamed Ali Bahzad extended MOFA’s appreciation of the DFA’s support to IDP by sending Filipino Diplomats to this program. FSI on the other hand cited the possibility of organizing a dialogue forum under a collaborative framework to commemorate 45^th Anniversary milestone of Philippines and Bahrain establishment of diplomatic relation.
