FSI personnel convened in a workshop discussing effective ways of communicating content to media

The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) successfully conducted a workshop titled “Communicating Content to Media” on 12 May 2023 at the Carlos P. Romulo Library, DFA Building, Pasay City, with forty-five (45) FSI personnel in attendance.

The workshop’s primary aim was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required for producing high-quality and timely written outputs through effective communication. Mr. Wilfredo G. Reyes, Editor-in-Chief of BusinessWorld, provided an enriching discussion and shared insights based on professional media practice.

The workshop underscored the importance of understanding the target audience when creating impactful content. Emphasis was also given to crafting relevant, interesting, fact-based, and timely topics to capture the media’s attention and wider readership. Sharing best practices for creating compelling social media posts, Mr. Reyes stressed the value of using simple, clear, concise language to convey key messages effectively. There was a constructive exchange on how FSI can explore ways to communicate its research and training outputs using online platforms.
