The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) continues to successfully implement the Online Course on Passport Services-The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) continues to successfully implement the Online Course on Passport Services-Advanced Level (OCPS-AL). The Course was aimed at re-introducing the key pieces of information about passport services and preparing the participants to decide appropriate actions or responses, using legal bases and protocols when dealing with more complex issues surrounding passport services.
The online Course was implemented by FSI’s Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy-Functional and Transition Program The online Course was implemented by FSI’s Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy-Functional and Transition Program Section (CPRSD-FTPS) in four regular batches: 01-30 March; 01 to 30 June; 01-30 September; and 01-31 December 2021.
A total of 393 participants completed OCPS-AL in 2021; of which 116 were from the Home Office, 175 from Consular Offices, and 102 from Foreign Service Posts of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
OCPS-AL was offered through the DFA – Human Resource Management Office’s Learning Management System (LMS). It focuses on the general overview of passport and other consular services, the features of a Philippine passport, Philippine laws on citizenship, processing Philippine passports, and handling passport clients effectively.
With this addition to FSI’s asynchronous courses under FTPS, more DFA personnel from across the country can now avail themselves of this training program, and work at their own pace within the given period.
