Learning at your own pace – this was the experience of 49 personnel of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) who completed the fully asynchronous program, Online Course on Passport Services – Beginners’ Level (OCPS-BL). The Foreign Service Institute’s (FSI’s) Functional and Transition Program Section (FTPS) offered the Course from 02 to 30 November 2020.

The Course aimed to equip the participants with fundamental information, including legal bases and protocols, which will guide them in taking decisions about passport issuance and services.

OCPS-BL was offered through the DFA – Human Resource Management Office’s Learning Management System (LMS). It comprised of six (6) consecutive modules: Introduction to Passport and Other Consular Services, Philippine Passport 101, Philippine Laws on Citizenship, How to Process Philippine Passports, Special Cases, and Handling Passport Clients Effectively.

The participants were provided access to the LMS from 02 to 30 November 2020 to take the Course at their own convenient time, finish the modules, study the cases, and go through the final assessments.

As an asynchronous course included in the FSI’s roster of Courses under FTPS, more personnel from the Home Office, Consular Offices, and Foreign Service Posts can now avail themselves of this training program, and work at their own pace within the given period.
