

Twenty-one (21) personnel from the Office of Financial Management Services (OFMS) of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) completed the Finance Officers’ Course of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), which ran from 18 February to 04 March 2019.
The two-week course, organized by the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy (CPRSD), was conducted for the personnel of the OFMS who are tasked to do financial budgeting and accounting in the Home Office, Foreign Service Posts, and Consular Offices. It covered topics about the organizational structures of the DFA and the OFMS, the role of Finance Officers in pursuit of the DFA Mission and Vision, budget preparation, process and execution, and fiscal reports preparation.
The participants were likewise engaged in workshops on budget preparation and financial reporting. There were also discussions on the overview of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (e-NGAS), and basic Commission on Audit (COA) rules and regulations on the conduct of financial audit.
