The Foreign Service Institute held a Mabini Dialogue on The EU’s Foreign Policy Toward Southeast Asia last 26 January 2017 at the Carlos P. Romulo Library, DFA.  The guest speaker was Mr. Pierre Defraigne, the Executive Director of Madariaga-College of Europe Foundation Brussels.  He discussed the relationship between the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), history and prospects of globalization, liberalization in the West, efficiency of a multilateral system, strategic trends, and the Philippines’ capabilities relative to its neigbors.
