The Foreign Service Institute won first place in the Cheer and Dance Competition 2015 and the Best in Costume Award during the opening of the DFA Multi-Purpose Cooperatives (DFAMPC) – DFA Personnel Association (DFAPA) First Inter-Office Women’s Volleyball League held on 23 October 2015.

Five other offices joined the cheering competition, namely, the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA), the Office of Financial Management and Services (OFMS), the Office of Assets Management and Support Services (OAMSS), and the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA).

Members of the FSI cheer and dance competition are Leona Liza Cuevas, Alyssa Mae Buniel, Gladys Yuson, Jill Angeli Bacasmas, and Liezhel Joy Jamilano, who were helped by Jaydelyn Reise De Vera, Ma. Esmeralda Perez, Nerissa Miranda, Estrella Cruz, Luisa Tañeca, and Mark Lawrence Quindoza.

The Institute also won the championship in the volleyball league held from 23 October to 7 December 2015 at the DFA Basketball Court. There were six participating teams in the volleyball league: the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA), the Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations (OUIER), the Office of Financial Management and Services (OFMS), the Office of Assets Management and Support Services (OAMSS), the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA), and the Foreign Service Institute (FSI).

The FSI won over the OAMSS in the championship game held on 7 December 2015. Players of the FSI team include Team Captain Rhoda Acosta (who received the best server award), Zenaida Bautista, Estrella Cruz, Leona Liza Cuevas, Jaydelyn Reise De Vera, Liezhel Joy Jamilano, Rhodora Joaquin, Rowena Layador, Rachelle Rivera (who received the MVP and Best Digger awards), Maria Olive Taclan, Luisa Tañeca, and Monina Victoria Velasco. Coach Bienvenido Basal and Assistant Coach Lawrence Perona guided the team during the tournament.

The Institute also finished first place during the DFA Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DFAMPC) Bowling Tournament 2015 held on 7 and 14 November 2015 at Paeng’s Midtown Bowl, Manila. Twenty-eight teams participated in the tournament representing various offices of the DFA.  Members of the FSI team include Team Captain Ms. Rhodora Joaquin, Andres Astro Marasigan, Maria Lourdes Nethercott, Judy Quitlong, and Hope Tornilla.
