Deputy Director-General Julio S. Amador III of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) participated in the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia and Pacific (CSCAP) General Meeting in Ulaanbataar, Mongolia, from 21 to 23 October 2015. He was accompanied by Mr. Allan de los Reyes, Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Strategic and Development Studies (ISDS), the secretariat of CSCAP-Philippines.

CSCAP is a Track 2 security dialogue mechanism that provides an informal mechanism for scholars, officials, and others to discuss political and security issues. It also makes policy recommendations to various intergovernmental bodies, convenes regional and international meetings, and establishes linkages with institutions and organizations and other parts of the world to exchange information, insights, and experiences in the area of regional political-security cooperation.

Mr. Amador also visited the Diplomatic Academy of Mongolia to discuss the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute and the Academy on diplomatic training and research. The visit highlighted the robust and vibrant diplomatic exchanges between the Philippines and Mongolia and the close ties between the two countries.
