To enable Foreign Service Staff Employees (FSSE) of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in performing clerical, administrative, and technical functions in their respective foreign assignments, the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) conducted the Basic Foreign Service Staff Employees’ Course (BFSSEC) at the Institute’s Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy on 13-24 April 2015.
The course, which ran for 2 weeks, included modules, lectures, and discussions to enhance the basic knowledge and sets of skills of FSSEs in information and communications technology (ICT) systems, DFA’s internal communication system, principles of 5S, telephone etiquette, gender sensitivity in the workplace, and diplomatic protocol and social graces.
