The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) covered four vital topics that will help Foreign Service Staff Officers (FSSOs) of the Department of Foreign Affairs perform their duties in the Home Office and in Foreign Service Posts during the Basic Foreign Service Staff Officers Course (BFSSOC) held at the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy from 16 March to 13 April 2015.

The BFSSOC was a 50-hour training course that included (1) Philippine society and culture, (2) the Philippine foreign service, (3) basic duties and responsibilities of FSSOs, and (4) workshop on basic foreign policy analysis and reporting.

The course was attended by 22 FSSOs and Foreign Service Staff Employees (FSSEs I).
