The Foreign Service Institute conducted the Course on Non-Traditional Security (NTS) Issues at the Institute’s Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy on 16 to 27 March 2015.
The course helped participants obtain a general understanding of the nature, characteristics, and contemporary patterns of transnational organized crime and threats. It included lecture-discussions and case study analysis presentations, which helped the participants gain a wider perspective on the global nature of transnational security threats and crimes. The course also tackled the policies in force to combat and reduce the threats and repercussions of NTS issues on our country’s security.
The course was attended by participants from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Navy, and the Foreign Service Institute.
