The Foreign Service Institute conducted the Consular Officers Course for Foreign Service Personnel from 17 November to 1 December 2014 at the FSI Training Venue at the Institute’s Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy, Pasay City.
The course helped participants obtain a general understanding of consular work. The course includes case studies, hands-on exercises, and workshops, including an interactive session with former consular officers who provided a venue for a dialogue about their experiences from their respective tours of duty.
The course gave the participants a wider perspective on the role of foreign service personnel in the effective delivery of consular service, as well as the rules and procedures to be observed in carrying out consular work.
