The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste recently sent a team of twelve (12) Focal Point Officials to gain insights on the Philippine experience in meeting the opportunities and challenges in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) building. Led by Amb. Francisco Tilman Cepeda, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the officials represent the various Ministries or Secretaries of State in Timor-Leste. They held discussions with resource persons from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI).

 

The event which took place on 10-11 February 2015 was jointly organized by the DFA Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs and the Foreign Service Institute.
