Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. Del Rosario convened and chaired the Foreign Service Institute Board Meeting on January 23, 2015. The meeting was attended by Board Members namely, President Antonio T. Kalaw, Jr. of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), Executive Director Arthur Luis P. Florentin of the Civil Service Institute for the Civil Service Commission, and Director-General Carlos D. Sorreta. Deputy Director-General Julio S. Amador III, DAP Vice President for Corporate Affairs Trygve A. Bolante,  Ms. Marichu C. Liwanag, Head of the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy, and Ms. Rhodora M. Joaquin, Officer-in-charge of the Center for International Relations and Strategic Studies also joined the Board meeting as resource persons.

The Board approved of the Annual Report for 2014 and the 2015 Work Plan presented by Deputy Director-General Julio S. Amador III. The proposed Resolutions recognizing the Foreign Service Institute Employees’ Association, the Alumni Association of the Foreign Service Institute, and the Director-General’s Award were also approved. It was agreed that the next board meeting will be held in January 2016.

The meeting is the first official function held in the newly constructed Ambassador Francisco L. Benedicto Room that was inaugurated on the same day. The smart room was constructed and equipped with modern facilities through the donation of Ambassador Francisco L. Benedicto.
