The Foreign Service Institute marked its 38th founding anniversary with the theme “FSI @ 38: Innovating Training and Research in International Relations.” In a simple program held on 9 December 2014, plaques of appreciation were given by Director-General Carlos D. Sorreta and Deputy Director-General Julio S. Amador III to distinguished resource persons, former FSI Directors, and DFA Assistant Secretaries whose offices have worked with the Institute on various projects. Loyalty awards were also given to FSI personnel who served the Institute for more than ten years. The event was held at the Carlos P. Romulo Library was attended by guests, awardees and FSI personnel.
Director-General Sorreta opened the program by lauding the milestones achieved by the Institute and commended the collective effort of FSI personnel in innovating their researches and training programs. Moreover, the Director-General acknowledged Ambassador Francisco L. Benedicto’s kind support to the Institute and the winners of FSI theme writing contest. The FSI choir showcased their talent in singing by performing an intermission number.
