As the six month cadetship program progresses, the Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Cadets Batch XXI, also known as Batch Salinlahi, reached Module 8 of the Foreign Service Officers Cadetship Course (FSOCC) last 15 October 2014.
Module 8 is a course on Economic Diplomacy and runs until 27 October 2014. The module aims to familiarize the new FSOs with the basics of economic diplomacy, the expectations posed on them, the skills, the tools, and the knowledge required for them to become proactive economic diplomats.
Dr. Raul V. Fabella jumpstarted the module with the topic on “Philippine Development and Economic Diplomacy”. During his lecture, Dr. Fabella discussed and shared his insights on the history and evolution of the economic development of our country.
Apart from being a professor in the School of Economics of the University of the Philippines, Dr. Fabella was also awarded the title of National Scientist in 2011. The title National Scientist is the highest recognition accorded by the Philippine government to a Filipino for his or her outstanding and remarkable contributions in the field of science and technology.
