Ambassador Domingo D. Lucenario, Jr. graced the second Diplomat’s Hour: Dialogue between Heads of Posts and Latest Batch of Foreign Service Officers at the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy on 04 September 2014. Ambassador Lucenario is the Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan and also the Non–Resident Philippine Ambassador to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
In his talk, he shared that he rose from the ranks, starting as a Foreign Service Staff Employee while earning a law degree as a working student. He highlighted the different positions held so that current Foreign Service Officers will have a clear idea on what they will experience as they advance in their profession. He also emphasized the importance of Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) work, and the need to be resourceful and creative.
He also shared with the cadets how to achieve work-life balance in the Department and how important it is to take care of one’s reputation.The Department gives a lot of opportunity and he is happy to say that he has no regrets in being part of it.
